Managing data flow and defining usage limits for networks
Managing data flow and defining usage limits for networks
Hello, I need to divide my 30GB monthly internet plan between me and my dad, each getting 15GB. My plan offers 8MBps download and 1MBps upload. The same rule should apply to the speeds: each device will get 4MBps download and 512kbps upload. Unfortunately, the 4G Huawei router doesn’t support this feature, so I’m considering setting up a proxy server—preferably on Linux, since I have a spare laptop running Kali that I can keep running for the server. I’m also curious about learning more about Linux tech. If that’s not possible, I’m open to using a Windows-based solution. Thanks.
You'd need to transform the laptop into a setup similar to PFSense to achieve the desired network management, or employ Windows and run it as a virtual machine in the background.
