I encountered an unusual occurrence while checking the dev manager. There were 15 processors listed, but I only have a 6-core, 12-thread machine. It seems the extra three might have come from an outdated device I updated with a new CPU driver. Let me know if you need more details!

The stories hold up! You can get extra performance this way. *begins playing Church of Richodude* However, on an actual system, it’s uncertain. Removing CPU drivers isn’t straightforward and might not be allowed.

Verify with CPU-Z that your system has a 6-core, 12-thread processor. Then navigate to Device Manager, remove all listed CPUs. After completion, open the Task Manager’s top-right corner and request a scan for updates. It should detect the correct core and thread count.
