Hello, I'm facing a problem. I was moving data from one SSD to another so I could use the first one for another purpose. All transfers went smoothly, including the OS files. After turning off my system, it doesn't recognize the second SSD as a boot drive, even though both are M.2 drives. I've tried various solutions but haven't been able to get the PC to identify them properly. All SSDs are functioning correctly and formatted properly. UPDATE: while writing this, I discovered an option to boot from my old SSD worked perfectly. Now I still need to set the other SSD as the primary boot drive and would appreciate some guidance.

I meant to clarify what I was referring to by "transferring." I wasn't cloning or imaging; instead, I used a specific method to move or share the information. Let me explain how it happened.

By transfer you refer to creating a clone? When cloning make sure you duplicate not just the C: partition but also the EFI boot partition. Another choice is to disconnect all drives except the one you just cloned. Boot to Windows installation media, then press shift + F10 to open the cmd prompt using diskpart to generate a new boot partition on the drive.

I was simply moving files between the initial SSD and the second SSD.

Did you set up Windows on the second storage device? Which operating system files are being moved and what is the reason behind it? I'm here to help if you need clarification.

Hey, no worries, that may be the issue, I just dragged all of the program files folders in to the other ssd in order to (hopefully) keep my settings, however, I did have to reset windows and I did the option to keep my personal files. I appreciate the help.

I’m proceeding by duplicating every file listed above onto the new storage device.

Additionally, multiple files indicate they cannot be copied or pasted because they are currently in use.
