Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is detecting a virus approximately every three seconds. Here’s an image link: http://imgur.com/6wyageu It appears to originate from Windows files. This situation is both bothersome and concerning.

It's recommended to operate in safe mode. Avoid Trojans at all costs. Good luck!

I would allow MalwareBlaster to handle it. After that, I’d swap it in using the option to download the zip file.

It isn't deleting it, and I'm unsure how to handle it on my own... It's simply logging it.

Trojan.Vawtrak refers to a type of malware known as a Trojan horse infection. It was initially detected by antivirus programs and affects various Windows operating systems such as Windows XP, 7, Vista, and 8. This type of threat is created by cybercriminals with the aim of carrying out harmful actions on your device and earning financial gain. Its potential impacts include slowing down system performance, restricting access to legitimate applications, tracking online behavior, preventing you from viewing certain websites, and consuming valuable system resources. Often it enters through suspicious email attachments, visiting dubious sites, downloading software from unsafe sources, or sharing malicious files with others. To protect yourself, it's important to be aware of these risks and follow the removal instructions provided below. If the removal video doesn't fully resolve your issue, consider downloading a recommended security tool for your PC.

One effective method involves manually removing the threat:

1. Restart your computer in safe mode with networking by holding the F8 key until the Advanced Options window appears, then selecting “Safe Mode with Networking” using the arrow keys and pressing ENTER.
2. Launch Task Manager via Ctrl+Alt+Delete, then close any running processes related to Trojan.Vawtrak.
3. Navigate to the folders on your local disk (be aware new files are still being added each month):
- %Documents and Settings%\[userName]\Application Data\[random]
- %AllUsersProfile%\Application Data\.dll
- %AllUsersProfile%\Application Data\.exe
4. Open the Registry Editor and search for registry entries linked to Trojan.Vawtrak (new entries appear monthly). Edit or delete them accordingly.

Alternatively, you can use automatic solutions:

- **SpyHunter**: A free download tool that uses advanced technology to detect and remove malware quickly. After installation, run a full or quick scan and select infected files to delete.
- **RegCure Pro**: A powerful application offering DLL error fixes, malware removal, registry cleanup, and performance optimization. It can help restore your system speed and stability.

If you're not comfortable performing these steps yourself, consider downloading SpyHunter’s automatic removal tool for immediate assistance.

I'm currently at work. Apologies for the delay. I haven't used that site before. You might try searching it online. I just found it through a Google search about removing the Trojan.
