Consistently behaving well hasn't solved my svchost.exe issue. Frustrating... and getting my brother to work with me is tough. I'm trying to wipe Windows 7 completely, but he refuses.
This machine is really lagging. I’m talking about the family computer I use often, not my own. It’s much faster than this outdated device.
I really don’t bother fixing computers that could use a fresh setup unless they have a fairly recent 7200 RPM HDD or better and an SSD (that’s preferred). I’m willing to pay a good rate per hour. If the system is brand new, I’ll go with a 5400RPM HDD, especially if a clean install of Windows 10 works well thanks to fewer updates, solid driver support, etc. In short, anything that keeps me from dealing with the system is fine. If they refuse a clean install, I try it because I’m polite—but if it’s too slow, I’ll decline, even though I can do it, unless paid per hour. Usually, they’ll invest in an SSD upgrade to boost performance, or they’ll pay me for it, no matter the rate.
