Hi there. I saw it worked and identified around nine infections. However, after restarting my computer, they reappeared.

Upgrade your system using the reset or refresh option in Windows 8/8.1, it might work better

I could take that path too. Would I require the original CD? My ex boss lent me a copy of Win8, but he only had one with several keys.

If Win8/8.1 is already present, no additional steps are required. I usually look for the term "reset" to confirm it's set.
