Major problems with the new laptop's WiFi adapter.
Major problems with the new laptop's WiFi adapter.
Hi I bought a new HP gaming laptop recently and formatted Windows 10 and installed Windows 8.1 on it, due to personal preference. I discovered that the drivers only work with Windows 10 so I installed Windows 10 again and installed the drivers from the HP website. My problem is that that I can’t connect to my home WiFi network and in the rare cases that I can it says “No Internet, Secure”. I have tried many different things including resetting the router, changing the router, uninstalling the WiFi adapter driver, running Windows Update, installing the WiFi driver directly from the Intel Official website, using a USB adapter, rebooting my laptop 50+ times, running Windows Update again nothing works. This is a brand new laptop but the WiFi doesn’t work I am really disappointed. I have an older HP all in one desktop and I tried connecting to the WiFi with that but it gives the same message “No Internet, secure” or “could not connect”. Interestingly the WiFi works flawlessly on my iPhone, iPad and on my wife’s iPhone and iPad. If I connect to a mobile hotspot on both computers the Internet works. How do I fix this problem? The WiFi adapter is Intel AC 9650.
If it isn't functioning on either device and both work with a hotspot, the problem likely lies with your Wi-Fi connection. I recommend checking your router settings to ensure it isn't restricting the number of devices or limiting access to certain ones. Clear any cached data on the router and instruct your computers to disconnect from the network before reconnecting. If this doesn't resolve the issue, consider performing a factory reset on your router and starting fresh with a new Wi-Fi setup. Reconnecting all devices afterward should work. Good luck!
It seems you're experiencing recurring WiFi problems, even when using a different Windows 10 computer. Let me help troubleshoot this.
