Many of my favorite games keep crashing, and I’m not sure how to fix them. Unreal Engine often crashes with confusing error messages, sometimes showing desktop errors. Other titles like MW2 and Phasmophobia cause my screen to freeze and crash my PC. I’ve tried reinstalling Windows, swapping the GPU, moving it to a different rig (it didn’t crash), upgrading the power supply, running MemTest86, and resetting CMOS. What should I try next?
My Corsair H115i never exceeds 60°C, I use two 16GB cards and still get temperatures around 65-75°C.
Which power supply unit do you have? And which one do you plan to purchase? What BIOS version are you currently using?
I own a Great Wall e500 PSU, received a replacement from a friend. The EVGA 650 BQ was installed today, and the BIOS version is 2402.
Thank you for the UBM findings
Does it continue to crash with your updated 650w PSU?
It might help to test with XMP enabled for a short period.
It seems to fail when using the 650W power supply, even without XMP enabled. It could be related to your CPU.
If you can borrow some other ram sticks, that might determine if you have a memory incompatibility.
I know you ran memtest86 but just a thought.
The other thing you could do is borrow a different GPU and also test.
If it still crashes, its narrowed down to either CPU or motherboard. You have the latest BIOS from what I can see.
