Hello everyone, I'm searching for an APU mainboard that supports strong overclocking. I'm not sure if more SOC phases versus fewer with better MOSFETs matter much. Core OC, IGPU, and OC RAM would be ideal. I need it under 150 euros.

Found some useful parts for your build. AMD 5600G with 4000Mhz and 15CL is great. You’re considering Gigabyte B550 I Aorus Pro AX in ITX form factor. I also spotted a solid uATX MSI MAG B550M Mortar, though you’ll need a new case.

A budget B450 could be a good choice if it includes a BIOS flashback feature. The 5600G model doesn’t require PCIe 4.0.

The B450 chipset mainly handles PCIe and USB connections, not general overclocking.

It's not too surprising to find similar options in these boards, especially since quality B450 and B550 models are quite comparable. The B550 offers more flexibility for future upgrades thanks to PCIE4 support, though you can often get a very affordable B450 through Newegg deals or eBay listings that might be hard to distinguish.

Received the B550I Aorus AX, it matches the design and would look better if it came brand new... 270 for the CPU and 165 for the mainboard.

I recently installed an ASRock B450M PRO4 AM4, the latest model I ordered features BIOS 4.0 which allows booting into EFI and upgrading to version 5.20. It supports XMP for RAM speed tuning. Previous versions might come with a BIOS that needs a specific CPU, making updates tricky unless you have one. According to userbenchmark, some users have successfully overclocked it to 4.9. VID outputs connect via HDMI, VGA, and DVI-D.
