I own a MacBook Pro with Retina display, 13-inch size, from early 2015. It’s running MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 (18G9028) after a battery replacement. Mostly everything functions, but I’m facing problems accessing Google services—especially Chrome. Safari works fine, though performance is slower for other sites. The system feels sluggish overall. I’ve tested various settings: different networks, certificates, DNS changes, VPNs, and even disabled extensions. Occasionally I can log in and sign in, but the lock icon warns of security issues. Using incognito mode helps a bit, but logging in isn’t very helpful. The network pane in dev tools doesn’t show any activity.

Suggested fixes include uninstalling Chrome, resetting your Mac's network configuration, and attempting to use Chrome once more. This appears to be an issue.

I believe it's not the problem at all.

I noticed that signing in with Chrome often triggers a 400 error. After a fresh installation, it might work differently.

Even if you changed browsers, you'd have to export the data, which is difficult when you can't access it.

I restarted again and halted all startup processes, which resolved the issue. The 2FA system seemed to be the problem, as it reported my phone wasn't registered and then sent all notifications at once. Edit: I might have identified the cause. Recently, while using my VPN, Google kept sending me spam captcha messages. It looks like they may have blocked the VPN range eventually. My approach of eliminating the VPN didn’t work, so I’m reconsidering.
