Yes, you can recover from the image without having Macrium Reflect installed. The backup image and recovery media are sufficient for restoration. However, the software is required when performing a recovery process.

If you've built the Rescue USB form using the Macrium client, all you need is to boot from it. Indicate the location of the Image and specify the drive where it should be applied. It's a good idea to test the booting process from that Rescue USB to ensure it functions correctly.

You can start the media you made and check if it loads into a recovery setup, provided you followed the steps properly.
