MacOS Big Sur struggles to retain network credentials.
Each time I restart and every time I share the same credentials on my Logitech Distination, it still doesn’t recognize my login. By the time everything functions properly, I’m forced to reboot for an update and start fresh. The same happens with my M1 mini and M1 air devices—Windows handles it smoothly. After a Windows reinstall, I only need to enter the details once, and I can freely access network resources.
The network password differs from the share password you need. You can add the share to your Login Items under System Preferences (Users & Groups).
. Interestingly, I just linked it via CMD&K and the AFP server after a restart, and although it prompted for a password through SMB, it didn’t use 'connect to'. It appears to remember your session, but it doesn’t when you open it in my sidebar?
I do that even though it seems to let you in right away, every time. That’s not great with lots of shares
