My PC frequently crashes with BSOD after overclocking the i5 6600k. The most frequent error is MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION, occurring right after BIOS setup, preventing access to Windows. Normally I see the startup logo and loading screen before the system freezes completely, then enters an endless loading or BSOD state. This happens on Windows 10. Even when using the AI Suite tool from Asus, which performs auto-OC, the entire system becomes unstable. I don’t think memory is the problem; it might be related to hard drive compatibility with Windows. There could also be an issue with the PSU, especially concerning Skylake sleep modes—since I prefer putting my PC to sleep instead of shutting it down. Although I believe faulty processors are rare, this could still be a contributing factor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
