Hello, I own a 2007 MacBook 2,1 (Ox X7,5) but need an updated Mac OS, preferably Mavericks. I attempted Macpostfactor without success. Could someone please help me create a bootable installation file? Thanks (sorry for the language issues).

Confirming the setup: OS X 10.7.5 is installed. The Sierra patch from dosdude1 isn't recent enough, but since it's a Core 2 Duo, upgrading to a new MacBook might be the best option.

It's true, I received the Mac for free to try out macOS. I believe it should work with at least Mavericks, though I don't think it's officially supported. I suspect the issue might be related to using outdated or modified versions of macOS.

It seems you're concerned about compatibility issues. You mentioned missing the graphics driver, which would affect video playback. The version 10.7 works well for this model, and you might not need an updated OS unless you've already purchased it.

I didn't purchase anything, but I believe the patch will function even if it runs very slowly.

The system version 10.7.5 is the only option available for that hardware. It's outdated and can't support newer software, even Mavericks. You'll likely encounter missing drivers, resulting in a poor user experience.

The 2006 and 2007 2.1 versions only support version 10.7, which means options are limited there. For a more recent Mac OS update, simply purchase the latest version.

Updating macOS isn't considered illegal software alteration. If that were the case, none of the patchers would exist.

The issue lies with the 2,1 MacBook's 32-bit EFI. The most recent OS version for these models is 10.7. I understand there were modifications to achieve 10.11, but if you prefer a current operating system, consider Windows or Linux.
