I launch from Virtual Box, enter amd64 and press enter. The display shows a message explaining why I must use Mac OS X Maverick for app development. My hardware details are: CPU – AMD A10 6700 (four cores at 31 GHz), GPU – AMD Radeon 8670D (built-in), RAM – 8 gigabytes (4 GB reserved for the OS).

OSX has specific requirements for the type of hardware it supports, and running a VM doesn't improve that much—it can even reduce performance.
