Based on your needs, it would be best to consider the latest stable release of OS X for optimal performance and security.
It would be great if they supported 1GB modules. I currently have four PC133 1GB SDR DIMMs and might need to find some elsewhere.
It doesn't work—just put one in and it failed to start. My system runs at 400 MHz and uses PCI, but I could upgrade the graphics card later if needed.
I believe my Mac issues came back—can’t get it to boot in Target Disk mode. The keys aren’t responding, I can’t list boot options, can’t request a disc boot, can’t tell it to boot from a disk, etc. Maybe it was because my iMac wasn’t on. I’m not very familiar with Target Disk mode. If this doesn’t help, I’ll attempt to burn the OS X 10.1 CD at the correct speed (I switched to OS X 10.1 since 10.2 had two discs and I don’t want to use up all ten) and then install it directly.
You're encountering issues because the system isn't supporting Target Disk Mode. This is problematic since it's refusing all discs you try—OS X 10.0, 10.1.3, and 10.4.6. No valid OS 8.6 or OS 9 image has been located yet. Someone with experience might know how to obtain one.
