I purchased a dynabook E10-G-106 with N4120 4Gb RAM and other components. I'm using it mainly for basic programming tasks on Linux Ubuntu. The laptop only has a 60GB EMCC module, so I upgraded to a 128GB M2 model because it supports that type of chipset. The issue is locating the motherboard drivers—when I check the Dynabook website, I encounter a 404 error for the correct downloads. Do you have any suggestions on where to find the old firmware or drivers? Thank you!

Ensure the correct interface is used for the M.2 slot. Verify compatibility, as not all ports support different drive types.

You won’t require any drivers for Linux, and the Arch Wiki suggests there are no major problems expected when using it on such devices. Just a brief look might be enough, though my reasoning could break down if no one is actually trying to run Linux on something like this.

They wouldn't share the same link, so I couldn't link to it.

The issue is that the drive isn't recognized at the BIOS level. I attempted to check if an update was possible.

PCIe M2 and SATA M2 are compatible. Using a PCIe device in a SATA M2 port will not function properly.

Not only it won’t work, but it also doesn’t fit. I’ve checked all M2 SATA and PCIe options; the pin arrangement is entirely different. I’m certain I got the correct part. The manual mentions compatibility with a maximum 128GB M2 drive, which should help. My issue is that I can’t locate any drivers or software for this laptop. I was hoping someone could point me to a site where old firmware or software might be available. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Are you certain it isn't a M.2 Wi-Fi port? Many laptops include M.2 slots for Wi-Fi cards, which won't function with a storage drive.

You usually need a different connection for a drive. For instance, a SATA SSD is a B+M key drive and fits only in a PCIe M key slot. This means it won't work just because it doesn't fit isn't a reliable way to confirm the type.

The laptop already comes with a WiFi card. Could that work? However, the hole for the M2 device matches the position of an SSD drive screw.
