M2 possibly died? Help
M2 possibly died? Help
Just looking for possible advice and solutions
I was listening to music playing world of warships, the music suddenly locked up, then the whole system, I had to hard restart the system as nothing worked, on doing so it would boot directly into bios, I checked in bios and the m2 is no longer detected, i reseated the m2 and it booted into windows but was locked up, I could move the mouse but nothing else at all worked, I put it in the second m2 slot and the exact same thing, from there I put it back in the first slot and tried again, it worked fine, started playing again and after a short while it locked up completely again, I rebooted and it went straight to bios and the m2 was not listed again -
Wondering if anyone has had similar or has any ideas what to do next, the drive is an adata 512gb nvme otherwise not sure
I’m thinking possibly a windows issue but then I’m not sure why it won’t list the m2 in bios. Thanks in advance
It seems like a regular check-in drive. If it appears in the BIOS each time, I’d think there might be a Windows problem (a fresh install could help). If it doesn’t show up in the BIOS, it could mean a hardware issue. Also, Adata has a bad track record when it comes to dependability. Sure, they’re inexpensive, but what’s useful if they don’t hold up?
I’ve already purchased a custom from cyberpowerpc. I understand it’s more affordable to buy rather than build myself. I’d rather let someone else handle it and include the warranty.
I’m checking if there’s any chance to preserve my Windows setup in case the hard drive fails. If not, it might be best to start fresh with a new installation.
