M.2 or PCIe Wi-Fi card compatible with AMD systems
I’ve been working on assembling my initial PC and chose a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU with the AsRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 board. The challenge is that my campus lacks Ethernet in most residential units, so I’m relying on Wi-Fi. I noticed the motherboard includes an M.2 port with an E key for Wi-Fi, which I wanted to utilize. From what I’ve researched, Intel produces many cards and many models come with a chipnet interface that appears limited to Intel chips. The M.2 slot is advertised as a feature but seems like a budget-friendly choice. I’m also open to using a PCIe slot with an antenna already attached if needed. Could there be any obstacles to using an Intel AX200 M.2 card plus affordable antennas for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5? Are there other alternatives I should explore? I’m finding it quite difficult to determine what’s possible. Appreciate any advice.
