I own an MSI MAG Tomahawk X570 motherboard that supports PCIe Gen 4 in both slots. My new drive is the Kingston Fury Renegade. I placed it in my secondary (M.2_2) slot and encountered some problems. Initially, it wasn’t detected at all (Not Present in BIOS). Now it shows limited speeds and reads as a SATA2 device. Interestingly, it’s delivering more speed than a typical SATA SSD but still far below its potential (around 7000mbs). In the BIOS, AHCI and UEFI are both enabled, and I’ve applied the latest BIOS update.
It looks like your system is displaying PCIe 4.0 x1 as the active mode, but you're missing three lanes somewhere. Check your PCIe connections and ensure all necessary ports are properly seated.
It should avoid sharing bandwidth with any lanes. I found some boards doing that, so I verified it soon after, though it wasn<|pad|>, isn't mentioned anywhere.
