LTE router suggestions for 4G LTE (alternative to DWR 932)
I currently use a DWR 932, but I experience very slow speeds at home. Online communities recommend switching to a better LTE router, which has boosted my connection significantly—both inside and outside my house. This improvement doubled my speed, so I considered upgrading to a more powerful model that works well with an external antenna. Of course, the most affordable choice would be a top budget option. At home, I have several devices like Alexa, my PC, and my phone, and I often use my smartphone both inside and on the go. Either I place the SIM in my phone or carry the router with me as a portable device.
It’s helpful to know which service you’re using, especially since they must confirm compatibility with your LTE network.
I'm in Europe, using Telefonica. It's not the fastest, but it works outside the door.
I don’t recommend specific hardware, but I can point you in the right direction. First, verify if your service provider supports customer-owned devices. This is important since my cellular plan provides home internet through their gateway. If you own your equipment, identify the frequency bands they use. Then search for a router compatible with those bands and consider one that includes ports for external LTE antennas. You might also want to locate the nearest tower relative to your home. Establishing a direct line of sight to the tower can significantly improve signal quality.
