Hey there, I encountered a tricky situation. I'm running a custom Windows storage server. The rig is an AMD Threadripper 1900X with 32 gigabytes of RAM, a random low-power GPU, and it's being used for troubleshooting. Most connections come through the network. I'm using a Windows Server 2019 with a 40GB SFP+ card that links to a 40GB SFP+ port on our switch. I didn't want to complicate things with Linux, Unraid, or similar tools since Windows works well. We have a variety of drives in a pool managed by Stablebit, and two Dropbox instances running as users. For storage backup, capacity and speed aren't concerns. Recently, I purchased a Seagate Exos X16 SAS 16TB drive and ordered an LSI 9200-8i card. The package came with an adapter, but the cable I received only has SATA ports—not SAS. That didn't work. I tried a Startech SAS cable instead, but it still didn't connect. I'm unsure how to fix this in other software. Can someone with more experience help me? Thanks!
Verify the card has been updated to the IT mode firmware. If it hasn't, it won't work properly with the host, otherwise you'll need to configure RAID arrays in the card's BIOS.
The listing clearly stated IT Mode. I could attempt to flash the P20 firmware I found online and see what happens.
