I thought the same thing too—I saw a video about benchmarks and someone mentioned that when there aren’t many programs running, with fewer cores available, performance tends to drop. Is that accurate?

With this CPU (like 3100/3300X), running word, Google, and a few tabs should work fine. Performance might be slightly lower than if the game was open alone, but it shouldn't be a major issue.
