I’m setting up a new system with a Ryzen 3700X, B450 Tomahawk, 2060 Super, and Corsair Vengeance 3000. My main tasks are editing in Davinci Resolve and managing my PC. The motherboard suggests using 2666 MHz RAM as the most stable option. I’m wondering if I can run at 2666 or 2667 MHz (as listed on the board).
Is this similar to using 2666 MHz dedicated RAM?
Will performance be the same as using 2666 MHz RAM, or is there a noticeable difference between single-channel and dual-channel setup?
I’m okay with a slight drop in performance if it means more reliability.
I think using 3000MHz won’t create issues. The gap between dual and single channels is significant.
that's just a blanket recommendation to work on any system. your system would benefit most from dual channel ram at 3600c16, if you can afford it.
