I utilized 1usmus' DRAM Calculator for Ryzen and pasted the outcomes into my BIOS using the safe calculation method. I adjusted only the RAM parameters—timings, voltages, power-down mode, gear down mode, and command rate—to the recommendations provided. After that, I ran memtest86 without issues. However, when launching Cinebench R23, the application would crash intermittently. Sometimes it finished a run, other times it failed completely. Eventually, the program would stop working. I increased the voltages to the maximum suggested by the calculator, but R23 still crashed. Then I lowered my CPU frequency from 4.2GHz to 4.0GHz, which resolved the problem. This suggests the CPU might be the issue, given that I successfully completed memtest86. Prior to these RAM adjustments, my CPU was overclocked to 4.2GHz @ 1.35V and remained stable. After modifying the RAM settings, R23 began to fail. Would reducing RAM timings influence CPU performance? I aim to keep my 4.2GHz @ 1.35V overclock stable while adjusting RAM speeds. This process seems really time-consuming. Are you sure it’s worth the effort? I mainly use my system for gaming and occasionally video editing. Do you think there’s a simpler method available? I don’t want to waste so much time on this.
I've run Prime95 tests and it seems my CPU OC was actually unreliable. I'm now trying lower OC and voltages to see if it improves performance with reduced RAM delays.
