I'm running a Pentium G4600 processor with 8GB of RAM, a 250GB solid-state drive used as the boot drive, and a GTX 1060 with 6GB of video memory. My frame rate has recently dropped significantly, and I initially suspected a CPU bottleneck, but that’s unlikely. Even with overclocking, I'm frequently experiencing difficulty reaching 60-80 frames per second on low graphics settings in games. I've attempted all the troubleshooting steps suggested by others, including exploring performance boosters, but my Windows resets consistently fail. I would greatly appreciate any advice on resolving this issue. (Furthermore, I'm experiencing similar, and sometimes worse, frame rates compared to a friend who uses an older, less powerful computer.)

Previously, it operated effectively, but now it unexpectedly exhibits reduced efficiency? Furthermore, simply because a processor’s speed is measured at a particular rate does not necessarily indicate that it isn't restricting overall performance.

I would reasonably expect a frame rate exceeding 60 frames per second, as I frequently exceed the suggested specifications for my games—specifically Rainbow Six Siege.

Was its previous performance satisfactory? Or has its current behavior been consistent throughout?

Previously, it ran smoothly, typically maintaining over 100 frames per second. However, recently it’s having difficulty achieving a consistent 60 fps. Consequently, I believed reinstalling the operating system would be necessary. Furthermore, I’m experiencing similar performance issues – and in some cases, even worse results – despite my friend using a significantly weaker computer.

Revise your device’s drivers – graphics, chipset, and BIOS – and run a malware scan using Malwarebytes. If a reset is not possible, consider a complete reinstall by downloading Windows 10 ISOs and utilizing the Media Creation Tool to create a bootable flash drive. Your existing Windows activation code will remain on the computer, eliminating the need to purchase a new license key.
