Lower CPU temperature
Lower CPU temperature
I just made some changes and realized a few tabs were open, which might be causing issues. I checked Ryzen Master and saw my GPU and CPU temps are too high and the status is red. I’m wondering how to lower them smoothly so they run at a safer level. I have a GTX 1060 with a 6G graphics card and a 550W power supply.
I only have definitions of acronyms here. They might help or they might not. Some people will grasp this better than me. I’m just trying to make it easier. Ppt seems to mean “package power tracking,” which fits with lots of tabs open. edc refers to “electrical design current,” related to the voltage regulator on your motherboard. I suspect your CPU needs more voltage than what the board can supply or accept. Possibly? Not certain.
It would be useful if we purchased a new PSU with higher wattage.
I didn't intend to bring up the PSU at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure the power rating isn't connected to this situation. I might be mistaken, though.
Make sure the 8-pin connector is inserted. The 4-pin part is only for extra power during overclocking, which isn’t required, but the 8-pin must be connected.
Right now my PSU isn't providing enough power, which is why I mentioned needing an upgrade.
