Low temperature FX-9590 performance
Low temperature FX-9590 performance
I started with an FX 6350, upgraded to FX 8350, added an air cooler, but the VRMs got warm. After a few months I moved to FX 9590 with the same air cooler – it worked well as Coolermaster. It didn’t open, so I switched to a Corsair water cooler. I kept the board instead of changing the motherboard and added a better cooler with heatpipes and fans that also cooled the chipset. Even at 5GHz overclocking, the VRMs stayed cool.
Enhancing the board's cooling with a fan and improved VRM cooling marks a significant improvement, regardless of the CPU used. I believe you're still using the 9590, correct? By the way, this is something I've tackled before, so I know I have some insight on FX chips. https://hwbot.org/submission/4659571_bon...51sec_78ms I also mentioned earlier that a Sabertooth board is a solid choice: https://hwbot.org/submission/4416104_bon...9sec_437ms I'm happy you're addressing those points, just keep an eye on CPU temperatures during heavy loads with that chip.
