I'm in 2019 and the issue persists. Would you like to bring it back up and see if anyone has a fix?
I experienced the same issue two days ago with my GTX 1080 Ti. Even at ultra settings, the graphics appear poor with only low detail visible. The game renders clearly within the character area, but at certain distances it looks very bad. When I move the character, the graphics suddenly pop up. I've reinstalled the drivers and updated the OS, yet the problem persists. Anyone have found a solution? This issue started mid-game while playing AC Odyssey, though I thought it was related to that game. It also occurs in CSGO and COD.
I face the same issue on a brand new setup, hoping I could replace any component I wanted. However, because I upgrade regularly, I couldn’t test another motherboard or DDR4 memory. Now even my older system handles it smoothly—what’s odd is that all parts are so different. My new build has an 17 8700K, 32GB DDR4, G.Skill 3600MHZ, a LNB 27GL650B, a PNY 2060 Super, and an NVMe 1TB 960 EVO drive. After installing the latest drivers and BIOS, everything runs perfectly. Still, I notice low draw on my new PC, even though it’s older. On my previous machine, the same problems appeared despite different specs.
I’ve tried multiple monitors, adjusted refresh rates, but nothing changed. Testing for months without results has been frustrating. Everyone talks, but only one person offers a clear answer. The only attempt I made was reverting to Windows 7—my original 64-bit Professional ISO from Microsoft worked flawlessly. Temperatures are normal, everything runs smoothly. Yet, games start showing texture distortions, like seeing circles around me where the graphics are redrawn.
So I decided to try again with a much older PC—X58 Saberthooth with an ASUS 1060 3GB RAM from ASUS on NVMe or SSD, and an HDD. I’ve tested everything, but the issues persist across all configurations. Spending around $2,000 feels like a waste. I’m considering switching to a console now.
My frustration grew when I spent thousands on fixes that didn’t solve anything. I suspect something serious—bad PCI lanes, faulty VRAM, RAM, or even the monitor. My card from PNY was cleared by RMA, but they said it passed all tests. So they sent it back. With my 1060, I’m convinced the card is fine unless I’m unlucky enough to have both die at once.
Everything started working perfectly on my old PC before I upgraded to Windows 7. Now, both my new and old systems are affected. I’ve installed a game called Destroy All Humans! and it’s failing too. I’ve tried over 20 games, but they all crash. I changed outlets, cables, HDMI ports, displays, PSUs, etc., but nothing helps.
I’m surprised since Linus never mentioned this issue in his coverage. Maybe he was tested with better parts before shipping. It seems normal for him to overlook such problems, especially when customers complain after months of online purchases. I’m tired of paying $2,000 for something that doesn’t work and feel like I’m dealing with a massive conspiracy.
I tried another motherboard and RAM on my new rig, but nothing changed. I’ve even considered going back to Windows 7, hoping it would fix the problem. Since I had no issues with my old PC running the same games, I’m worried about losing everything again.
The situation is frustrating—everyone talks, but only one person gives a real solution. I’m starting to think this is just bad luck. Maybe I made a mistake in my past, or maybe it’s just a coincidence. Either way, I’m not sure how to fix this without spending more money.
I've encountered the same problem this month while playing Fallout 76, and it's significantly worse than before. It's frustrating that no one has identified a solution across various platforms and forums for years. I'm considering returning to the console and selling my PC if I can't resolve it within a month, but I've tried everything so far.
