Model: MSI 4070ti ventus with Intel i5-10400 processor. Expect smooth performance, not a major bottleneck. Power supply: Corsair 750w. Initial GPU installation showed minimal usage, delivering decent results. Overall GPU utilization stays between 20-30% across games.

I upgraded to a newer version. Did you perform a DDU prior to installing the Nvidia drivers?

My brother upgraded to a Radeon RX 580. I’m working on the DDU now and plan to do a fresh install later. I’ll keep you updated.

10400 isn't the ideal choice for that GPU. It really depends on your resolution and other factors. The CPU can reach up to 4.3 GHz, which will significantly limit your GPU's performance.

This should not be considered a significant usage gap. It's just a few years old.

Poor match unless using 4K resolution. The i5 10400 is essentially an i7 8700, similar to a Ryzen 5 3600X. It's a budget CPU from several years ago. The 4070Ti is a 3090 model built for 1440p and 4K gaming, powered by nVidia which demands a more capable processor than a comparable Radeon (due to bigger driver overhead and more likely bottlenecks). Fixes – a 4K display or upgrading to a platform with a 1440p screen.

It seems there could be a CPU limitation. However, the CPU is only active at about 5%.

Your immediate problem may be more complicated than just a cpu bottleneck, but There is definitely a HUGE cpu bottleneck. I recommend at LEAST a 12400 or 5600x, optimally a 13600k or 7600x or better to handle the 4070ti. Here's a video showing the huge performance difference between the 13600k and the 10400 with a 3090ti

You're looking forward to potentially getting a 13 or 14 generation Intel in the future. I didn't realize how significant the bottleneck could be. It turns out I managed to keep GPU usage around 60-70% during ray tracing at full settings, but it dropped when running competitive games with lower graphics options.
