Low performance in CSGO
Low performance in CSGO
Hi guys!
I've been wondering for a while why my build can't run CSGO "smoothly".
I have an:
i5-6600k 3.9-4.3GHz (OC)
Gigabyte z270 Aourus 5
32GB DDR4 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB
KFA2 GTX 1070Ti
S.O. in Samsung 970 EVO
Game in Crucial P1 NVMe
PSU Corsair 80Plus Gold RM750
I've just reinstalled Windows.
I have a FHD 144Hz monitor and I'm having constant FPS drops from ~160 to 90-70. I Iowered graphics to medium and disabled 3D sound.
I may be wrong but I think this is not good performance at all even without the FPS drops.
Other games (Apex Legends, Overwatch, PUBG...) run fine, not spectacular, but fine
Any idea? Thanks
Sorry for the 'up', just starting here on this forum and seeing a lot of activity.
My setup is 2560x1080 at 144Hz.
Overwatch (ultra), Apex (ultra) and PUBG (high/ultra) all run smoothly over 144 FPS most of the time without any drops, except possibly during parachute landings in PUBG.
I’ve noticed slightly better performance in CS GO when I turned off the 3D Audio, which I believe is a CPU-heavy feature.
On a 1070 Ti (about 1080) and with the game on an NVMe drive—though not the fastest—it’s much faster than SATA SSD or HDD. It seems like there might be some optimization issue or a bottleneck affecting the game.
I’ve already tried disabling Windows Game Bar DVR and closing Corsair's iCue, but I’m still unsure what’s causing it.
Really... I don't know much about this. If it only happens in CS:GO, I wouldn't assume it's a hardware issue. It's just strange, even with my 580, I can manage around 200 FPS in CS:GO. Are there any background processes that might be using too much CPU?
Well, I resolved it. It was the monitor. I own two, and turning off the G-Sync compatible, 21:9 144Hz, FHD model gives me 250-300 fps with everything in high, while the regular FHD 60Hz one I use gets that rate. I don't know how or why... but at least I now understand the issue. Thanks for your help.
