Low output, system underutilized
Low output, system underutilized
maybe you can assist me here. during hardline beta and even bf4 my gpu usage stays within limits, usually around 40-50 percent, rarely spiking to nearly 70 percent. my cpu usage on a six-core system never exceeds 40 percent per core. my ssd isn’t being overwhelmed and my ram isn’t either. yet i only achieve about 35-50 fps. i’ve adjusted the settings but nothing changes. my question is, if gpu, cpu, ram, and ssd aren’t at maximum, why am i getting such low performance? cpu is a phenom 2 x6 1055t thuban 1.575 volt at 2.8ghz boost to 3.1 gpu is an amd hd hs 6970 ram is 8 gigs of 1333 ssd is the samsung 840 it works in other games too but not many. off the top of my head... warframe if anyone can help or guide me i’d really appreciate it. i completely understand if this is due to older hardware not being optimized, but if you’ve faced similar issues before, any advice would be greatly valued.
It's not about how much GPU power you have... this equipment is quite old, yet it still performs well today. What game resolution are you using? Resolution and frame rate are the main factors affecting FPS.
For other titles, drivers might be needed. I don't know if you're using version 14.4.
I'm testing the latest drivers, what's your configuration? Have you noticed this before? It's been happening in several games over the past year. I'm wondering why it's occurring and why the hardware doesn't seem to be used beyond a certain point. Upgrading everything might fix it, but if it's just an issue with my older graphics card and drivers, I could easily get a new GPU like the 880 Ti when they release it without needing to change my CPU or motherboard later.
Something similar occurred with my device. My chip failed, I attempted to overclock the Radeon 6670 using excessive voltage for a weak processor, which didn’t work. Performance dropped significantly across all games.
My GPU is heating up badly and the fan noise is really loud, so I’m using a custom MSI afterburner fan controller. I did it once but noticed how bad it was, so I made a short video for you. I used my webcam microphone instead of the Blue Yeti, which made things worse. The PC is right under my desk.
