Hardware is solid, but the frames are consistently low. No clear explanation yet.

Adjusting graphic settings doesn't improve the experience. As an esport player, your priority is minimal distractions. Lower everything first, then adjust only what you need. Regarding drivers, unless you're regularly playing the latest AAA titles, updating your GPU drivers isn't necessary. Your card is two years old and the game doesn't receive performance or graphics updates. You likely don't need the newest drivers, as they can cause problems. Consider rolling back to a version two or three earlier. You can often restore functionality using just Nvidia's downloads. If this issue started recently, it probably involves driver-related problems.

I'll go for the lowest settings and make sure to update that in my post. I'm also going to try rolling back the driver to see if it makes a difference. I've heard from teammates that updating the driver can cause frame drops too, so maybe that's the solution.

Adjust the render scale from auto to 100 percent since auto mode renders at 4/5k while maintaining around 120 FPS. For competitive players, set everything to low with a 100 render scale to achieve approximately 250 FPS consistently.

The same problem with the latest Nvidia driver resurfaced, reverting to an older version a few months back. Everything functioned normally then, but now newer games won't launch. Wow, such a frustrating situation in 2020!
