Low frame rates occur on portable computer.
Hi everyone, my computer has an i5-7300HQ processor, a GTX 1060 with 6GB of VRAM, 8GB of RAM (running in a single channel at 2300MHz), and both SSD and HDD storage. When I play League of Legends at the maximum settings, I consistently achieve approximately 150 frames per second. However, when playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on its lowest configuration, I experience around 230 FPS. Conversely, in Fortnite set to minimum settings, my frame rate is highly erratic and rarely exceeds 110 (excluding the creative mode, where I maintain a steady 160). On YouTube, I've observed individuals with comparable or even inferior hardware experiencing more consistent and higher frame rates. My temperatures remain below 70°C. I’ve attempted reinstalling both the game and operating system without success. Could there be an underlying issue? Perhaps upgrading my RAM would resolve this problem. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
A GeForce GTX 1060 is quite old now. Fortnite demands fast clock speeds, perhaps that’s the issue. Could you share your clock speed? If it’s not high enough, you likely need a more recent processor.
It appears your graphics card is quite old, which may be resulting in a low frame rate. Unfortunately, I’m unable to offer further assistance.
A previous graphics card likely wouldn’t achieve consistent 60 frames per second at the highest settings in The Witcher 3.
