You are trying too hard. No point showing videos also. The difference is something you can feel when gaming in terms of how quickly your mouse / controller inputs are reflected on screen. At 30fps you have 33ms lag time between consecutive frame. At 60fps you have only 16.67ms lag time. Which means things on screen are being updated faster and you are getting more information. Explain that to him it's a mathematical fact he can't deny it. Then just tell him that most of us are sensitive and fast enough to process that extra data so we like high frame rates. Tell him if he cannot that's cool; just leave it at that...
