hey, i'm really stuck with no other options left, so i didn't know where else to seek advice. i've tried all the fixes to boost my fps in rust, but nothing works. even reaching out to facepunch didn't yield any solutions. basically, my rust can't sustain above 80 fps—it keeps dropping to 10-20 fps randomly, making it almost impossible to play. i think the issue isn't with rust itself, but rather something related to my computer setup. i've played rust with the lowest possible graphics settings and still faced the same performance limits.

here are my specs:
gpu - 3080 ti
cpu - amd ryzen 9 5900x 12 core
memory - 64 gigs
motherboard - msi tomahawk max ii b450
storage - samsung ssd evo plus 2 terabytes
power supply - corsair 2023 gold 1000w

if you have any other details to share, let me know.

I would execute UserBenchMark and share the results link.
It's useful for the community to observe how your setup compares with similar rigs globally.
Even though some view it as pseudo-science, I see it as a straightforward way to record your components in the correct configuration and operation, which might reveal clear issues and offer practical fixes.

Avoid referring to user benchmarks as they are paywalled now, which is frustrating. I don’t know of any other options that evaluate both GPU and CPU performance (besides Port Royal or Time Spy by 3D Mark).

The system shows "Server full" currently. Someone used it about two days ago without issues in a thread I mentioned. I don’t want to sign in (Pro). If it’s gone, just pay and I’ll apologize; otherwise, I only suggested UBM as a free tool. It also shows "Captcha Queue," which seems like a way for the server to verify real users before allowing access. Either way, it doesn’t fix your current issues. What is your RAM size? Is XMP enabled?

Hey, I tried userbenchmark but the server was full. My RAM is 2400 MB and the speed is 2400 MHz. I’m not sure what XMP is, but I don’t think I have it since the info says it’s only Intel. Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB 2x

Consider using the OCCT benchmark. Also, run a monitoring tool like Rivatuner during playtime to identify performance spikes. Check your game settings for the Garbage Collection Buffer under "Experimental." A small GC Buffer might force the mono.dll interpreter to discard unused data more often, potentially leading to stuttering or frame rate drops. Increasing RAM usage by just a few hundred MB can significantly raise memory consumption. 2400 Mhz should suffice for Rust, and XMP is an Intel feature I’m aware of.

Sure, I'll attempt the OCCT benchmark and download Rivatuner. I'll also look into the garbage collection buffer. Appreciate the assistance.

AMD EXPO serves as the counterpart to Intel's XMP. It functions as a configuration within the BIOS that enables automatic overclocking to reach its optimal and fastest speed. (in my words)

the benchmark results show my cpu and ram performing worse than expected. i'm unsure how to upload images on the site, but my cpu is consistently underperforming in multi-threaded tests, and my ram is also running below average across all tests. it seems like my pc might be experiencing bottlenecks.
