Low frame rate on GTX 1050 Ti
Low frame rate on GTX 1050 Ti
I recently swapped out my old motherboard CPU and RAM for newer parts. My budget isn’t very large. I’m using: Ryzen 5 3600, Asus Prime a320m-k, Nvidia Gtx 1050ti, and a single 16GB DDR4 stick at 3200MHz. They warned me it might slow things down, but I didn’t think it would be that severe. The game I’m having trouble with is Path of Exile. God of War Valhalla runs around 40-41 FPS. More CPU-intensive games usually don’t cause issues, though they’re more demanding than my old setup, so I probably won’t notice much difference. Any tips or advice? Next month I plan to add another 16GB RAM stick for better performance. I’m open to suggestions for both my current configuration and future upgrades.
The previous configuration and the current one are different. The 3600 is not the new CPU; it was a different model. Your performance has improved compared to those earlier configurations. Let me know the specific setups for a detailed comparison.
This model is a solid choice for gaming—consider upgrading it if you want better performance.
The previous CPU and motherboard were single-channel RAM which limits performance. DDR4 memory is now very affordable, making it possible to upgrade your 16GB stick for around 2x8GB without significant cost. The 1050 Ti was a high-end GPU around 2016, so you should get modest results from it.
The processor couldn't operate properly... It was a dual-core, four-thread machine.
They mentioned a drop in performance because of certain factors, though I’m not sure exactly what caused it. The previous specifications differed from the current ones, which likely affected the outcome. Your confusion about whether the results were lower than expected is valid—please clarify your expectations and actual numbers so I can assist better.
You're still unclear about the older specifications. Could you share them?
Previously, what performance did you notice? What results were you hoping for from the upgrade?
Have you ever checked if your GPU was the limiting factor? Was the 1050 Ti already operating near full capacity with your current configuration?
He might be suggesting the single-channel RAM limits performance, which is accurate in certain cases. The user should put in more effort to get detailed answers and reliable information if needed.
Thank you for your support. As someone earning around 500 dollars a month, I’d prefer to make the most of my income. If there’s a chance to maximize what I have, I’m ready to adapt. Otherwise, the typical American approach of spending more in hopes it will vanish doesn’t resonate with me.
