Hello, I understand you've changed your graphics card from a 5600x to a 5800x3d and noticed minimal impact on your gameplay in World of Warcraft. While I see a small difference in other titles, WoW performance remains largely unchanged. My setup includes an MSO B450-A Pro CPU with a 5800x3d graphics card, a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU, Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz 650W power supply, and an MSI MAG-CORELIQUID-240R case. I attempted to lower the CPU temperature using MSI Kombo Strike, which helped reduce heat. However, during Cinebench tests, my performance stays around 4.45 without improvement. The issue appears to be that the CPU upgrade didn't significantly affect WoW speeds. Are you experiencing anything else unusual?
I receive it, yet I try to limit them and keep my Weak Auras low, mainly during raids and mostly in dungeons.
You can achieve around 60 fps in WoW with a 5800x3D setup, even during raids, battles, or city exploration. Focus on checking your typical server latency because the delay in getting player positions might limit your frame rate. For instance, being on one coast while your character is on another can create noticeable lag. If your latency exceeds 100ms, consider it alongside hardware problems. My brother, who plays with a 5800x3D and RTX 3070, consistently gets about 60 fps across all situations. Add-ons aren't essential, but they can be a shortcut. The strongest case I've seen for weakauras came during a specific fight, but only on Mythic where debuffs were straightforward. For the discussion at hand, try turning off all add-ons—including your tracking and details—and observe if performance improves.
I resolved the issue after some adjustments, though I wasn’t entirely sure what was causing it. I reinstalled everything multiple times and adjusted the CPU undervolting. It seems either that or an addon was the solution. Interestingly, turning off addons didn’t help much before, but by disabling them in-game rather than removing them, things improved. Now I’m seeing 70 high 80s in raid, which is great!
You need to upgrade your cooler since the current one isn't performing well and is limiting performance.
5800X3D with the 3D v-cache mod adds extra heat transfer layers, increasing sensitivity to certain factors. Aiming for a 240mm AIO or a powerful air cooler will help keep CPU temps down. You’ll need to boost its ultra-low power use by about 2-3 times just to balance it out.
You own a 240mm AIO and installed the MSI MAG CORELIQUID 240R.
It was HWINFO while performing a cinebench test. The setup used kombo strike 2 with a value around -20. I own an nzxt h510 and need to leave the side panel out to improve airflow.
