I just reinstalled my graphics drivers, powered off the PC, unplugged it, and still faced the problem. Elden Ring’s frame rate was between 20-30fps. When I ran FurMark, it worked normally at 300+fps on 1440p. Restarted the computer and everything returned to normal. Elden Ring FPS stayed locked at 60fps and FurMark showed the same numbers. I don’t understand why this is happening.

Have you tried any other games? Also confirm that the graphics options in Elden Ring haven't been altered. I'm not sure why a restart would help, but it's worth checking. If the problem is tied to the game itself (Elden Ring), switch the settings to low, then back up to high again. You might also want to check the game files or reinstall the installer.

It might relate to v-sync. This feature can reduce the refresh rate when it struggles to hit 60 frames per second. The monitor's refresh speed could also be affected, especially after upgrading a GPU.

I handled it when it first occurred. At first I assumed it was GPU-related and adjusted the settings. After trying Cyberpunk FPS, it went from about 60 to 120fps on high/ultra with no RT. All games showed screen tearing and FPS drops, but restarting resolved it. The issue only returned after unplugging the power supply or experiencing a power outage. I just updated my BIOS from version 3 to 9. I’ll update this tomorrow to check if the change affected it.

Vsync disabled, 1440p resolution runs at 144Hz, while the second monitor displays 1080p at 144Hz.

Great news! The BIOS update seems to resolve the problem. I've tried it a couple of times, and there are no FPS issues. Appreciate the support from everyone.

No problem at all! Happy to hear it worked out! Appreciate you owning it—just a tiny bit of humor never hurt anyone.
