Low FPS on Ryzen 5 3400G with Vega 11? Looking for assistance!
Hello! Your friend purchased a Ryzen 5 3400G and sent it over since they don’t have the rest of the PC for testing. I own a Ryzen 5 2600 and a GTX 1070, so I installed the 3400G and began testing it with the built-in Vega 11 graphics. The results were disappointing—performance was significantly lower than expected. For instance, The Witcher 3 wouldn’t run smoothly at 1080p 30-40fps, even though most reviews claim that level. Apex Legends also struggled, dropping to 30-40fps on 720p ultra low instead of the advertised 45-50fps. In short, to match the frame rates shown in some YouTube videos, I had to lower the resolution to 720p, but even then, I didn’t hit those speeds. I also tried installing Adrenalin without any noticeable improvement. If you have any insights or suggestions, please let me know—it’s the first time I’ve tested a Ryzen APU and I might have missed some setup steps. Thanks!
Driver interactions could significantly influence results. Let's see how it plays out! Thanks!
It's easy to test it without issues. This usually occurs when switching between AMD and NVIDIA chips.
Boost the dedicated memory allocation for the iGpu. This could provide some improvement.
Check your computer's manual or look for the BIOS setup guide in the hardware section.
