LOW FPS ON A GOOD PC CSGO
LOW FPS ON A GOOD PC CSGO
Hello everyone, I’m curious about why my FPS in CS:GO is so low—almost below 190 in competitive play and between 70-90 in deathmatch. I’ve got an i5 10400f, GTX 1080, 16GB RAM, and I’ve tried almost everything: checking the NVIDIA control panel, adjusting power settings, reinstalling the game and Windows, updating drivers, and even disabling VSync and uninstalling drivers. Still, my FPS isn’t capped, and I’m not sure what’s causing the issue. Have you noticed anything similar?
Disable HPET (location depends on your motherboard BIOS, but you can also disable it as a system service, this method is required on all Asus boards AFAIK) Disable superfetch/sysmain (this is also in your services) Do a bit of Googling before committing to either of these, but it helped me. Install the game on your SSD if not already done. It should also be noted that some CSGO maps are poorly optimized. I get a great framerate on Dust2 or Mirage, but some of the new maps stutter from time to time. (7700k/RTX2070/16GB 3200Mhz)
I'll take a closer look at it, thanks a lot, colty. In low-quality maps I'm struggling to hit even 60 frames per second, which is really disappointing.
In CS I've noticed performance issues with Overwatch running at 7700k and 980Ti, achieving around 140fps on 1080p. It seems this configuration isn't optimal for medium or high settings, where frame rates often stay between 280-300fps.
It worked for CSGO, but it only provided a temporary solution for Overwatch. A subsequent update undid the changes. This was the main reason I stopped playing lol. I've seen that boosting anti-aliasing can push your GPU to higher performance settings, which often improves frame rates. In CS, I've been using 4x MSAA for some time, while in Overwatch I was running 8x MSAA to help with the game's demands. Consider adjusting settings—maybe turning it off could give you steadier, smoother play at 240Hz.
