Low FPS in games?
Low FPS in games?
Hi,
A month ago I purchased my new PC with the following specs:
MSI RTX 2060 Ventus OC
AMD Ryzen 2700 3.2GHz
Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite
HyperX Predator RGB 8x2GB 3000MHz
Windows 10 Home (v. 1903)
The issue I’m facing is with frame rates in games such as Battlefield V, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands, and Far Cry 5.
I’ve watched several benchmark videos and seen no problems with frames in games like Battlefield V, which ran at Ultra settings with over 70 FPS, even when my frame rate dropped significantly from 60 to 40.
Temperatures aren’t high, for instance the BFV temperatures were around 45-65°C. I’ve also updated the latest GeForce drivers, but the problem persisted from the start.
Some games are running smoothly, yet I still find it surprising that benchmarkers often report higher FPS with similar or slightly lower specs, and I don’t.
Perhaps it’s just my PC or maybe there’s something else affecting performance. Any suggestions?
Yes, I had to adjust it manually to 3000MHz in BIOS since it was 2400 initially. I'm currently running both DX11 and DX12, but using DX11 now.
For the best performance under high temperatures, the ideal range is near 75 degrees. However, during gameplay, it typically stayed between 45 and 65 degrees.
Current information on drivers (GPU, chipset, soundchip) and resolution availability.
I was using 1080p, and the GPU drivers were at 436.48. I don’t remember much else except that I updated the sound drivers about three weeks ago.
