low fps in games
I own an i5 9600k, RTX 2080 with 16gb DDR4 at 3200mhz, running on an MSI MPG Procarbon Z390 with SATA SSD. Despite normal GPU usage, power consumption and clock speeds are fine, but my FPS drops significantly in Rainbow Six Siege (70-100), Insurgency Sandstorm (60-80), and CSGO (230-280) at 144hz.
It doesn't look that low, but: are the Windows updates current? Is the BIOS up to date? Are the drivers in the latest version?
I understand, but what I'm aiming for is that the FPS should be higher than 144 so you can utilize it completely.
You should get a better GPU, but it won't reach those numbers in those games with that card.
on a rtx 2080 at 1080p the frame rate isn't typical, i've had friends using a gtx 1660ti which runs faster.

What are your ping, download and upload numbers?
Is your GPU configured for top performance?
Does your CPU have overclocked settings? Is it reaching its advertised clock speed in these games?
