I use a stretched 4:3 resolution and achieve around 130-180 FPS at 144Hz with my AMD A8 6600K GPU running R9 380. I understand CSGO is quite CPU-intensive, but I’m not sure if that’s the main issue. While FPS might look decent to some, I should be getting much higher performance, especially in 4:3.

Very affordable. 70 to 100 with a 144Hz frequency is not optimal.

Likely the processor is the main component.

It doesn't appear to be the conclusion of the issue, VSync remains active.

That makes sense. I think an 8350 would definitely boost my FPS significantly.

Check if your CPU runs at 144Hz.

On a 8350 with 780ti, I see around 150-200 frames per second on a 16-player FFA dust2 server. Using 4x AAs and AFAs except shaders at low settings gives about 250. I tend to opt for an Intel CPU since single-threaded speed matters more.

Considering a similar budget, an i5 chip would be more suitable.

Avoid FX 8350 or AMD options; choose an i5 4690(k) instead
