About a week ago I began noticing significant FPS reductions in games such as FN. More details are provided below.
PC Specifications:
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 (Asus)
CPU: Intel Core i7 10700KF
Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING B560-PLUS WIFI
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16
Operating System: Windows 10 Home
Issue:
Consistent FPS drops – they are getting larger each day. At first, it was only around 90 during combat, now it can fall to about 20 during fights, and rarely goes above 200 FPS when not heavily engaged, like while looting.
Occasional freezing occurs in games while performing actions such as fighting; these freezes usually last between 1 to 2 seconds and can disrupt gameplay unpredictably.
Any assistance in identifying the cause would be highly appreciated.
Please feel free to share any additional information you might have.
Thank you.

Other aspects to verify are basic ones and typical reasons. Monitor CPU and GPU temperatures using Core Temp and GPU utilization. Assess drive condition and available storage space via CrystalDiskInfo. For SSDs, ensure at least 100–150GB free space is maintained. Review background processes and startup items in Windows Task Manager, sorting by priority; investigate any unusual entries by right-clicking. Use Malwarebytes to scan for potential threats.

I rely on fans for cooling and have a Phanteks case. My SSD offers 320GB of available space. I'm currently unable to reach my PC but expect an update with more details such as case model, SSD type, and CPU/GPU temperatures in about two to three hours. Thank you.

SSD: Samsung SSD 980 1TB
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400A
During the pre-game lobby in FN:
CPU usage: 42%
GPU usage: 30%
Memory usage: 70%
Below are the CPU temperatures while seated in the pre-game lobby in FN (temperatures in Celsius):
Power consumption: 60W to 100W
Core #0: 50°C
Core #1: 50°C
Core #2: 50°C
Core #3: 50°C
Core #4: 60°C
Core #5: 60°C
Core #6: 45°C
Core #7: 45°C
TDP: 125.0 Watts
GPU temperatures:
GPU temperature: 55°C
I performed a scan with Malwarebytes, which detected 3 threats and 259 PUPS, placing them in quarantine.
I plan to test my performance in FN to observe CPU/GPU usage and temperatures, then share the results.
Thanks.

After a short session of FN creative, I noticed the CPU and GPU usage increased to 60%, and the temperatures rose by an average of 10 degrees Celsius. This situation isn't overly stressful since it was just me playing. In a few hours I'll be facing a real match where the usage and temperatures will be much higher due to more processing demands. I'm not a tech expert, but I found it unusual that the game was lagging in FPS even with 60% CPU/GPU usage. While playing creatively on my own, I experienced stutters where the game would freeze for 1 to 2 seconds. This shouldn't occur during creative mode on a less powerful system than the one I'm using now.
