Hey there. I've just bought a GTX 980 Ti, replacing my older GTX 1060 3GB. I looked into it and it seemed perfect for 1080p or 1440p gaming. But now playing GTA 5, I’m not hitting close to 60 fps, even in the desert mode. My 1060 did better at the same settings. I’m confused about what’s going on—what are my specs? I have an i5 6600, 8GB DDR4 2133Mhz, a 1TB Toshiba CX500 (grey), and the GTX 980 Ti. Could it be the hard drive causing the stuttering? I was hoping for smoother performance. Should I consider upgrading anything?
Adjust driver settings or Windows can help. It might be the card isn’t getting enough power from the PSU, but you shouldn’t expect smooth GTA 5 performance on a HDD while also running Windows. Consider switching to an SSD for your Windows or HDD when playing games—heavy games run better that way.
I also noticed the specs are faulty or missing, and the DXDIAG indicates it's version 6.
