Hey everyone, I'm seeing around 45-60 fps on Rust. Adjusting the settings doesn't seem to help much—most games still struggle with low frame rates. My system specs are: RTX 2070, 8GB armor, I7-2600K, 3.4GHz, 32GB DDR3 RAM. CPU is 1600 MHz, GPU usage/temp stays between 45%-60% at 32°C or 40°C to 95°C. Updated April 8, 2020 by Andrei Zhuang.

Mine (2070 S) reach temperatures similar to those mentioned, and Zotac confirms this is typical.

It won't happen. The situation could harm the card soon. Nvidia mentioned that at 95°C the device should shut down to prevent serious damage. Your CPU is getting too hot.

I didn't recall the exact details, so I looked up the information and found this summary: "Operating temperature ranges from 40°C to 50°C when idle. Load temperature varies between 60-90°C based on workload. The card's thermal threshold is 95°C, and it should be avoided if running at that level for extended periods."

Regarding temperature, the GPU running at 95°C under partial load is not ideal. What case are you using? Which fans are installed and their locations? Concerning the GPU bottleneck, your 2600K will likely limit performance compared to a GTX 970 or GTX 1060.

He’s running low on his card with 50% remaining and it’s at 90°C—definitely not typical.

Well, I didn't realize it wasn't running at full capacity. You're correct, that's unusual.
