Low CPU performance rating in test results
Hey, your i7-10700 shows a score of 13,065 in PassMark, but the average for this chip is around 15,699. That’s quite a difference. It might be a bit concerning, so you should check if your system meets the minimum requirements for your intended use. If performance isn’t critical, it could still work fine, but consider upgrading if you need better speed or stability.
Be very concerned about this. Many users experience significantly improved performance by raising their turbo power limits. Use HWiNFO to check your current turbo settings. If the BIOS defaults them to low values, it will cause reduced CPU performance and lower benchmark results. I adjusted both limits to 300W to avoid any throttling issues. If you can't locate the settings in the BIOS, ThrottleStop is a good alternative. Open the TPL window and share a screenshot if you need assistance.
The PL1 power cap is at the standard 65W setting, which lowers peak output. You can boost PL1 through the BIOS if needed. If you need more control, consider using ThrottleStop to adjust limits when the default isn't available.
Sure, the standard Intel options aren’t great, honestly. I don’t even remember my CPU score, and the CPU just functions without much fuss. I’m skipping PBO now, and my average is around 60 cpu cores—no throttling needed, just what I need to know.
Thanks, I'll try again. In the game I have a really smooth and satisfying experience. I don't understand why these programs bother me so much. Everything works fine in practice. Superposition and pass mark app rated my build as average to good. However, cine bench and user benchmark gave it a bad score. Still, I'm happy with how my performance feels.
I understand your point. It makes sense to rely on our PCs for meeting requirements. As long as the temperature and performance stay good, these applications work fine at around 60-65 degrees Celsius.
These tools are built to handle maximum temperatures, perfect for stress testing, but beyond that they don’t add much value. Real performance matters in gaming, computing, and similar areas!
Topic Update: Resolved the issue partially. Solution: Swapped my RAM stick to get dual-channel performance and disabled MCE. Since then, my PC consistently scores higher in benchmark tests. Before adjustments, after adjustments.
