New setup from summer 2021. All components are brand new except my EVGA GTX 980. The machine has a soft brown screen when playing League of Legends, but it doesn’t overheat. Room stays cool and parts perform well without stress. I usually play at low settings. It’s also inconsistent—sometimes it works for just a few minutes, then it stops after hours. My first guess is the GPU is causing issues. The monitor shows brown when gaming, yet I can hear everything clearly. It seems display-related. I was thinking about upgrading to a 4xxx series GPU, but I was hoping my character would last longer. Any suggestions on possible causes?

Have you checked another cable or port on the graphics card and monitor? It could be a simple, inexpensive solution.

Great thought. I also chose to perform a basic malware scan, which returned 22 hits. I’m planning to test League next to check the results. If it doesn’t work, I’ll switch to another cable.
