The last seven days have been really tough. When I ran "ipconfig /all," everything showed up, even the DNS settings. I attempted to turn off IP6 and set a static IP. Then I visited Mac and downloaded the newest drivers, but they didn’t help. I switched to Ubuntu 16.04 (after installing an ISO) and still couldn’t connect to the internet. I bought an Ethernet adapter USB because separate drivers were needed. I installed Windows 7 32/64, Windows 8 32/64, and Windows 8.1 32/64, probably out of desperation. Despite having no internet access on any of them—even with the adapter—I managed to reach my Windows XP and Vista laptops through the Ethernet cable. I reset my router several times and called my ISP, who blamed it on my PC. Need advice. Hardware: Asrock H110-DGS/D3 i3 6100; Windows 8.1.

The operating system currently running is W10. Have you attempted a clean installation of W10? You won’t need to enable it, and it will fetch the required drivers automatically. Additionally, you can access the network and sharing center to collect some screenshots for us.

The issue appears to be caused by either the cable or the connected device, since the same outcome occurs with both the onboard LAN and the USB Ethernet adapter you purchased.

I also noticed that, but I haven’t confirmed what the users say until I’ve used it myself. Have you tried this cable with a tester? @Bruce boy

Does your router include a filter for IMAC connections? Do you possess admin privileges for router settings? You can add another device by connecting it to the USB-to-Ethernet adapter and using the same cable on the laptop. After installing the USB, did you attempt to turn off the built-in Ethernet module? Have you refreshed the BIOS on your motherboards? Review the Event Viewer logs.

I've set up Windows 10 but the problem remains unchanged.
